Methodical Bedlam: Misspelled Contradictions of a Lost Soul

Got Invited To A Movie Premiere In NY

Posted by th0r4z1n3 on June 4, 2008

OK I’m sure nobody cares but I wrote a couple of blog posts about about the Canzo Empyrean move after seeing a few of the trailers on YouTube a while ago, and when I checked my email Monday I had an invitation from Fornal Films to come to NY for the US sneak preview/premiere.

Sounds like it’s going to be a blast! Me and a couple of other contributers from The Restricted (I was able get me +2 on the invite) are going to NY and we’re going to meet with members of Ars Subterranea. They’re going to lead us along a 40 min subterranean hike to the secret location of The Mestabah Megiddo Theater for a private screening of the movie where we’ll be given a sample of “The Specter’s Citrus Blue”…

Not so sure what to really expect, but the production value put into the event itself sounds like it will be worth the trip.

Sorry not trying to brag or be cocky, I just think it’s cool that somebody paid any attention to what I was writing.

Be sure to check The Restricted for a full review of the movie and events by myself and Tony Glasses. http://www.therestricted.wordpress.com

Update

Posted by th0r4z1n3 on April 11, 2008

Just added a new tutorial on how to take video from YouTube and load them onto your iPod over at The Restricted. Other than that, not much going on here lately, other than a mad rushed blog-o-thon to get some conted up over there… “blog a day” didn’t have nothing on this lol

Rebirthing The Restricted

Posted by th0r4z1n3 on April 8, 2008

OK, so just started my newest little project, which I’m sure will turn out to be my newest time consuming sucker of sanity, but I did it anyway. Here lately I’ve notice that my blog has strayed from what I had originally intended it to be, and turned into more of an online diary. There’s nothing wrong with that, but unfortunately that’s left me with nowhere to put my more structured writing/articles that I originally started this blog with.

Solution? Start another blog just for that type of writing. So I present to you… The Restricted, a continuation of a project that Tony, Joe and I started a long time ago. I’ve been playing around with the idea for quite some time now, but have been putting it off because I really didn’t want to undertake the project all by myself. Tony and Joe however are otherwise occupied with writing their new television series (good luck to you by the way), and I figured it was do or die time and if I didn’t do it now the motivation would soon dwindle away to nothing.

So check me out as the sole contributor right now at therestricted.wordpress.com, and keep an eye out for new authors and contributors in the near future.

I still plan on making regular entries here and just keep them more personal, hopefully I will be able to build enough of a reader base with The Restricted to generate a little revenue and invest a little bit back into the publication, maybe do a weekly/monthly podcast to go along with it. Who knows?

Anyways, don’t forget to check it out and enjoy!

This Is The Re-Mux

Posted by th0r4z1n3 on April 3, 2008

Thanks to a Twitter post from Sarah Lane I got hipped to a site called MuxTape, where you can upload your MP3’s and make a “mix tape” to share with your friends over the internets. It’s kind of like You Tube but for music, and it lets you create a play list so that you can set the song order.

I gotta tell you that I’m lovin the concept, being a DJ I have come across plenty of songs that I’ve wanted to share with others. Unfortunately other than having them buy the CD solely on my recommendation or illegally download the song (something that I would never endorse) I haven’t really found a good way do this… until now!

So I’ve taken the liberty of uploading a couple of songs that I’ve remixed or extended for play in the club. Most of them stem from the original being just way too damn short to get away with playing or from the “No Rap Rule” we have. So keep in mind that these songs were intended to be played in a strip club and have hot stripper chicks dancing to them while they play… hehehe

Admittedly I’m no professional when it comes to remixing a song, but I’m kinda proud of what I’ve been able to do so far, and inevitably whenever I play one in the club someone always asks about it. Always makes me feel good when something I did just to satisfy the curiosity of rather I could do it or not gets me a little praise from total strangers. I’m generally a shy person, but when you get me in the DJ booth I love to show off, and in a gentleman’s club if you can get the customers to shift their attention from the ½ naked woman on the stage to the 300 lbs Mexican guy in the DJ booth… you’ve gotta be doing something!

Anyway, without further a due… here’s my MuxTape and the play list:

AFI – Prelude 12/21
Digital Underground – April Showers
Kid Rock & Metallica – American Bad Ass (Sad But True)
I.C.P. – Fire Rain

Canzo Empyrean… Need I Say More?

Posted by th0r4z1n3 on March 30, 2008

So I’ve noticed that I’ve been getting a lot of hits on my blog from over the Canzo Empyrean trailer, a video that I found while looking for some footage from the upcoming live action G.I. Joe movie. I found the preview by accident but let me tell you, I want to see this movie so bad I’m practically foaming at the mouth!

Anyway, I thought I’d take some time and share with everyone else, some of the stuff I’ve found since stumbling across it, but first off for those of you who haven’t seen it yet, here’s the original trailer that started the whole thing:

Awesome! That’s all I can say… Awesome.

So here are some more video clips that I’ve been lucky enough to come across since I initially found the preview

Untitled

Canzo Empyrean Kinolingus Erectus

Harry, a reader in Monrovia Liberia who heads up a local fan club for the movie, was nice enough to send me this link of Chancellor (the mastermind behind it all) promoting what I’m assuming to be the movie premier over there:

Here are a couple of the more innovative marketing adds that I’ve came across too:

Pastor Phil takes on Canzo Empyrean

This is the best one so far but for some reason he has disabled the Embed option on the video so you’ll have to click on the link, but trust me; it’s worth it!

Bletting the Medlars

“Big Up” Harry for all the info and links you provided!

Final thoughts? I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: “I.HAVE.TO.SEE.THIS.MOVIE!

And Some Heroes Came Along…

Posted by th0r4z1n3 on March 28, 2008

OK, so I just started watching Heroes for the first time at the recommendation of a friend… Awsum!

Admittedly, I didn’t give this show a fair shake at first. I don’t really have a whole lot of time for watching TV, so I have to pick and choose what shows I watch/DVR. I usually record one show a night (excluding various news shows) to watch and that’s enough to give me my TV fix for the night.

Just so happens that Heroes and Studio 60 both debuted on the same night and I chose the latter of the two for my after work entertainment. Then with Heroes being one of the major factors in Studio 60 getting canceled, like a spoiled child, I refused to watch it strictly out of spite… I still feel like Studio 60 had some of the best writing on television at the time and in the midst of all this reality television; if it had been given a different time slot it would have done very well.

So long story short: given the lack of new episodes of anything to watch (as a result of the recent writers strike), I’ve had some time to check out a few programs I wouldn’t have otherwise watched. I may have… um… lets say… acquired the first season of Heroes… *cough* torrents *cough* *cough*… I’m just kidding, I would never advocate the illegal downloading of copywrited materials from the internet, I bought them from Wal*Mart. :\ *rolls eyes*

Honest!

Regardless… come next season they’ve got a new viewer, I’ve just got to get caught up by then. It’s a good thing my iPod holds 80 gigs worth of shit.

P.S.

Just for the record: I did buy the first season, it just may not have been before I “previewed” it by other means, and it was money well spent! :)

Twitter

Posted by th0r4z1n3 on March 27, 2008

OK, so apparently I Twitter now! After hearing Leo and those guys on TWiT (No affiliation between the two) talk about it so much over the past few weeks I figured I would give it a look see. I’m not a big fan of social networking sites like My Space, but I guess in all actuality even blogging is a form of social networking and that’s what this seems like… kinda like a micro-blog; a place to post quick little one or two sentence comments so that people can keep up with what you’re doing.

I’m still trying to work out all the issues with my laptop situation, so if you find yourself in need of your daily dose of Th0r4z1n3 and I haven’t updated my blog check me out on Twitter: http://twitter.com/Th0r4z1n3

So Long & Farewell

Posted by th0r4z1n3 on March 26, 2008

3GP your days are numbered! You’ve been a great little proggy for a long time, but unfortunately I’ve strayed and tasted the fruit of another. Don’t’ get me wrong, I plan on keeping you around for a little while and stringing you a long, just in case things don’t work out as well as I hope with this new video converter, but to be honest I think we‘ve simply grown apart… and we both know it.

It’s not you, it’s me… oh who am I kidding? It’s you that I have a problem with. I’m tired of you constantly letting the audio and video fall out of sync with each other; I know it’s not on a consistent basis, but enough is enough. We’ve been together for a long time, since the first week or so after the Sony PSP came out, and I’ve kept you around long after I made my move to the iPod, but I think it’s time that we went out separate ways.

I’ve kept you around for a long time and been loyal when it came to video conversion, but I have to tell you… this new proggy, Jodix, is just more dependable than you. Although I’ve enjoyed your ease of use, simply being “easy” is not a good reason to keep someone around. So it is with great sadness that I remove you from my hard drive.

Just Me Being A Geek

Posted by th0r4z1n3 on February 23, 2008

OK, so my laptop finally crapped out on me the other day. It didn’t stop working all together, but for some reason my mouse pad and keyboard just decided that they no longer liked their stations in life and just weren’t going to participate anymore… go figure. *shrug* The easy work around was to snag the mouse and keyboard off of my home PC and hook them up to my laptop, but that’s more or less rendered my laptop “not so portable” anymore. I do a lot of my writing at work or on the road, so until I bite the bullet and find replacement parts or just go out and get a new laptop (I’m really pulling for the new laptop BTW), I really don’t have a convenient way to write right now… so my apologies for the lack of posts here lately.

So what’s been going on in my life here lately, other than a broken laptop? Oh where should I begin? Lets start with what’s new on the Transformers collecting scene, that always puts me in a good mood.

All the stuff from my “I sold my 25th Anniversary G.I. Joes Haul” came in, Devil Satan 6 is the awsum! He’s in better shape than he looked like in the pictures and that made me extremely happy. The TF Jr’s were indeed unopened, and I was indeed the first person to free them from their “Styrofoam Prisons”, and when I posted about it on TFW it sparked an offer from another collector for two of the six figures that form Raiden Jr. *SCORE* And the Collector’s Club Exclusives were everything I thought they would be, so all in all it was a great series of transactions; I made way more off of my Joe’s than I thought I would, and when it came time to spend it I got a lot of ridiculous deals on the stuff I wanted.

Here recently, I’ve stumbled into some great deals too. I snagged five of the six figures that form Piranacon from the original Generation 1 Transformers series for a fraction of what they were worth, due to the seller not knowing how to spell his name correctly. I’ve had the sixth figure needed to complete him laying around for a while now and never figured I’d be able to complete it because of his ridiculous price so I’m not complaining. On top of that I was able to work out a deal with another collector for a bunch of the parts I needed to complete my newly acquired Piranacon, along with parts for my G1 Metroplex and Trypticon, so now I just need to get the big gun for Pirranacon, and the smaller guns for Scamper and Full Tilt, and I’ll have all three figures 100% complete. If all goes well with this deal, I should be able to get most, if not all, of the parts I need to complete Scorponok from the same guy too… so n00b3rz eatz0r your heart out, lol. I’ve been wheeling and dealing so much here lately, I feel like a fucking Ferangi :) , but so far 08 has been turning out to be a great year for collecting, at least for me anyways. Here’s to hoping it continues *cheers*

I’ve been trying my hand at photography here lately too, not so much like professional photography but more like product photography (?). I built a small light tent and have been taking pictures of some of my TFs to try and hone my skills. I’m having a little trouble with the white balance and getting my backgrounds to turn out completely white, they tend to have a slightly blue tint to them but I’m encouraged by the results so far. My wife’s been a major help, she the Photographer not me; I just take pictures, and yes there is a difference. Here’s a few I took with little or no Photoshoping, other then cropping the pictures down to size.

I’d really like to get good enough to submit some of my stuff to the TFW galleries, because I have quite a few figures that they are missing from there and they have been such a great help in collecting for me I’d like to give something back. Other than that I don’t really know what I would do with those said skills other than have really good looking images for anything I sell on eBay, lol. I guess I’ve always been like that; I just like to know how things work, see if I can do it, and then I lose interest in it. Kind of like, way back, when I only had a webTV and I decided to write my own IRC chat program for it completely in HTML. I worked day and night on it for about a month, and once I finished it, I never gave it a second thought. The key with that is that WebTV recognizes one HTML command that normal computers don’t: wtvchat or wtv.chat or something like that (It’s been a reeeeealy long time ago), but once I did it I quickly lost interest in it because there was no challenge left behind it other then coming up with snappy little saying to pop up when someone clicked the little button.

Anyways, I’ve rambled on long enough… Peace!
